Does music theory have you a little frustrated?

You've come to the right place.

All of the following links will open in a new browser.

For basic theory needs, visit http://www.musictheory.net.  There are several helpful FREE trainers including a note trainer, key trainer, interval trainer, triad trainer, and several ear training options.  You can also view "lessons" from basic note names all the way through Neapolitan chords.

Here are a few other options:

InTactus is a great FREE program for measuring the performance of one- and two-part rhythms.  Find it here.

Diktus is another FREE program for practicing one- or two-part rhythmic dictation and sight reading.  Find it here.

Western Michigan University School of Music has a helpful website that reviews basic theory concepts.  It's not quite as user-friendly as musictheory.net, but it can still be useful.  You can find it here.

Musictheoryminute.com is another great website that offers one-minute videos explaining more advanced theory concepts like enharmonic modulation and suspensions.  It also offers visitors the chance to ask "Dr. Jack" their most burning theory questions.  There are no trainers, but the videos are clear and easy-to-follow.  Find it here.
